Helena Coltman started painting as therapy, while she supported her late-husband, John, through his illness and then for comfort when he passed away.  Both Helena and John shared many hours on the deck of their Gippsland home watching the frequent bird-life that visited.  Helena feels a strong connection with native bird-life, animals and the Australian landscape.  She is emerging as a sought-after artist and has won ‘Best in Show’, ‘Highly Commended’ and ‘Peoples’ Choice’ awards at the Tyers and Yarragon Art shows where her paintings have been keenly purchased by art buyers.
