Lynley Northcott developed a love of art growing up in New Zealand. A fine Arts graduate from RMIT, Lynley Northcott creates a range of classical, ultra-fine ceramics for exhibitions and the retail market. Each work is individually handcrafted so no two items are identical. Working from her atmospheric studio in Melbourne, Lynley lovingly hand throws each piece individually on the potter’s wheel. Every stage is undertaken by Lynley personally, from the natural clay state, to glazing and decorating, to the beautifully finished product. Her strong blues, reds, greens, violets and pastels elevate her work above other contemporary ceramics. Functionality and aesthetic appeal are factors that are important to Lynley when she is creating these beautiful pieces.
