Helen Masin

“I work primarily in acrylics and have recently introduced pastel and charcoal to my paintings. I enjoy discovering how each medium works with the other adding to the narrative of my work.”

Gippsland artist Helen Masin resumed a life-long passion for painting after a relocation from Northern Victoria to Sale, Victoria in 2005.  The move prompted a return to art study at East Gippsland TAFE, majoring in painting and life drawing. Helen’s previous studies included Visual Arts majoring in Photography.

Over the past several years Helen Masin has exhibited in solo and group shows around the Gippsland region and Melbourne; she describes her painting style as ‘eclectic’ ranging from abstract aerial landscapes, streetscapes to still life. Helen’s recent paintings have been inspired by her travels to Europe, in particular Italy.
