David Bryant

Sculptures

Forty-five years ago, David Bryant embarked in setting up his own commercial art studio in Elwood, Melbourne. He successfully ran a graphic design business specialising in packaging design and advertising. Since then David has enjoyed exploring sculpture ideas, in particular nautical themes such as fish. The fabulous sculptures he produces are made from odd, found objects which he up-cycles, such as old tins, clock parts, vintage toys, etc.

With his skilled graphic design background, David Bryant often starts with sketches and drawings before collecting and curating his works. His fish sculptures have a wooden carved base which he shapes before covering in tin; then the fun starts, adding all the bits and pieces. David currently is evolving his works with delving into other subjects within the nautical theme.
