Belinda Volkmer grew up on a farm in Gembrook, Victoria, giving her the opportunity to explore the colours, textures and intricate beauty of the lush rural environment around her. Consequently, her paintings are inspired by childhood memories and continued observations of nature.

“I’m drawn to bold, cheerful colour that makes a statement and love building layers of paint to create a textural interest in my work. When I paint I immerse myself in the joy of creating – I allow my mind to wander, withdrawing from the outside world and day-today responsibilities of life.”
