Vivi Palegeorge was born in Melbourne; her love for drawing and painting began at an early age along with her fascination for science and nature.
Vivi enjoys painting a variety of subject matter; figurative, landscape and seascape works. In particular, she seeks to capture and transfer to the viewer the serenity and calm found in nature as a contrast to the busy and frenetic pace of everyday life. She also sets time aside weekly to experiment with different media so as to fully push her creative boundaries and grow as an artist.
A long-serving member at Brighton, Beaumaris and Mentone-Mordialloc Art Groups, Vivi teaches regularly in the mediums of acrylic, oil and watercolour; she also enjoys leading artists in ‘en plein air’ workshops locally and overseas. In 2006, Vivi was accepted as a full member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists, she has a passion to mentor and connect with other artists, believing all learn from their shared journeys. Vivi is also a member of the Australian Watercolour Society, the Victorian Artists Society and the Melbourne Society Of Women Painters and Sculptors, (MSWPS).
Vivi has received many awards and continues to participate in many art shows. In October 2013, her painting titled ‘Sandringham Yacht Club Vista’ was nominated as a finalist for the Australian Mortimore Art Prize. Vivi was also nominated as one of thirty artists to participate in 2013, 2015 and 2016 Victorian Artist of the Year Award, for Victorian Artist Society.
