Tegan Lloyd is a visual artist and illustrator living in Melbourne, Australia.  Self-taught, Tegan creates contemporary abstract works, using acrylic on canvas and textured artists papers. She also creates mixed media artworks incorporating oils, pastel and metallic leaf.

Inspiration for Tegan’s original works emerge from a stirring of emotions.  Colours, textures and design elements found in nature, textiles, interiors and her travels influence Tegan greatly – she is very responsive to her environment and mood.  Tegan’s desire to create balance and a calm centre in her life through her art sees this energy pour into her work, which results in artworks that bring a serenity to the space they are hung.  She passionately explores design through small works, experimenting with colour palettes but tends to paint freely letting her mind be still and the brush lead her.  Enjoying the creative process, not focusing on the end result, sees Tegan swept away for hours at a time in her work. Learning from so called “mistakes” on canvas, these are the details that become the soul of the piece.

Tegan grew up in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, south-east of Melbourne. Creativity has always been in her soul, drawing, colouring, writing and illustrating stories from a young age. She has always been a natural with charcoal and her love of illustration continues to grow. Women of beauty and strength, fashion and culture inspire her illustrations.  Life is a crazy/happy balance for Tegan – running the family home with her husband, playing with their young boys, painting from her home studio, drawing late into the night, sourcing inspiration and enjoying the little things in life with family and friends.
