Maxine Price has been a practising ceramist for 16 years and currently works from her studio near Canberra. She has exhibited regularly at ANCA Gallery, the Q Gallery, Form Studio, Falkner Gallery in Castlemaine, and at the Art Vault in Mildura. Her work focuses on figurative forms relying on multiple firings to produce a layered painterly effect, rather like a 3D painting. They explore the human condition and the constant quest of discovering identity.
Maxine won the Rotary Queanbeyan West Prize in 2008, and an award at the Ignition Clayworkers’ Award (Qld) in 2010. She exhibited in the 2015 Ceramics Triennale with Hiroe Swen, Anita McIntyre and Christopher Harman and was a finalist in the Yering Station sculpture prize in 2016. Maxine Price’s work is held in private collections both in Australia and overseas.
