David Williams commitment to crystalline-glazed porcelain began while completing a B.A. (Fine Art) at Phillip Institute, Melbourne, in 1980. After graduating, he established his studio in the tranquil forested ranges at Toolangi, just north of Melbourne. David forms each of his pieces on a potters wheel, which is then fired in a kiln at very high temperatures. The beautiful crystal formations occur during the cooling stage; each crystal pattern is different, varying from one firing to the next, each piece a unique collectors item.
David Williams work has been exhibited at the National Gallery of Victoria and Parliament House, Canberra. His crystalline is porcelain is represented in many recognised public and private collections.
