“Growing up on a farm in Gembrook, Victoria gave me opportunity to explore the colours, textures and intricate beauty of the lush rural environment around me. I was especially fond of the luminous green beetles and wore them as brooches until they flew away!
My paintings are inspired by childhood memories and my continued observations of nature. Taking a spontaneous, intuitive approach – my work evolves with freedom. I’m drawn to bold, cheerful colour that makes a statement and love building layers of paint to create a textural interest in my work.
When I paint I immerse myself in the joy of creating – I allow my mind to wander, withdrawing from the outside world and day-today responsibilities of life.I hope to impart this sense of joy and freedom to all who view my work.”
